Peace Above the Storm

People Everywhere Are Searching For Peace

Peace above the Storm

  • Do you worry about the future?

  • Do you feel your prayers are unheard?

  • Are you struggling with guilt from the past?

  • Do you feel unworthy?

  • Do you need security for the future?

Jeremiah 29:11 ~I know the thoughts that I think towards you saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

LONGING FOR SOMETHING BETTER…
p. 24    You who in heart long for something better than this world can give, recognize this longing as the voice of God to your souls.    Ask Him to give you repentance, to reveal Christ to you in His infinite love, in perfect purity.

WHEN IN DOUBT… never give up.  p.28

When Satan comes to tell you that you are a great sinner, look up to your Redeemer, and talk of  His merits, that which will help you is to look to His light. As you see the enormity of sin, as you see yourself as you really are, do not give up to despair.  It was sinners that Christ came to save.  He is wooing by His tender love the hearts of His erring children.  No earthly parent could be as patient with the faults and mistake of his children as God is with those He seeks to save.   All His promises, His warnings, are but the breathing of unutterrable love.

 FORGIVENESS p. 35

The conditions of obtaining mercy of God are simple and just and reasonable.  The Lord does not require us to do some grievous thing in order that we may have the forgiveness of sin.  … The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.   Psalm 34:18

NEVER FORSAKEN…. HE IS INTERCEEDING FOR US

p. 57     We shall often have to bow down and weep at the feet of Jesus because of our shortcomings and mistakes; but we are not to be discouraged.   Even if we are overcome by the enemy, we are not cast off, not forsaken and rejected of God.   No, Christ is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.   Romans 8:1,24  (Quite a thought) That there is a human being representing you and I in the courts of heaven.  Hebrews 2:11; Hebrews 4:14.   There is one who understands!   Hebrews 5:2,7,8

If you give yourself to Him, and accept Him as your Saviour, then, sinful as your life may have been, for His sake you are accounted righteous. Christ’s character stands in place of your character, and you are accepted before God just as if you had not sinned.  {SC 62.2}
More than this, Christ changes the heart. He abides in your by faith.

HE UNDERSTANDS p. 87

Keep your wants, your joys, your sorrows, your cares, and your fears, before God.  You cannot burden Him, you cannot weary him…His heart of love is touched by our sorrows, and even by our utterance of them.  Take to him everything that perplexes the mind.  Nothing is too great for Him to bear, for He holds up worlds, He rules over all the affairs of the universe.  Nothing that in anyway concerns our peace is too small for Him to notice… “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”  Psalm 147:3

HE IS OUR FRIEND  p. 104

Jesus is our friend; all heaven is interested in our welfare. We should not allow the perplexities and worries of everday life to fret the mind and cloud the brow.
